Glen Avenue Reconstruction

HEI was selected by the City of Peoria to provide Phase III engineering services for this $5.5M federally funded, 0.5-mile-long street reconstruction project. The project consists of the complete reconstruction of the street with new PCC jointed pavement, curb and gutter, storm sewer system, underdrain system, water system, sidewalk, shared-use path, cast-in-place retaining walls, entrances, temporary roadways for property access, street lighting, landscaping, and pavement markings. Due to the urban nature of the project, significant coordination was required with residential and commercial property owners including weekly progress updates.

HEI provided the resident technician, construction inspectors, and materials testers to perform daily diaries, traffic control inspections, erosion control inspections, daily quantity and materials documentation, materials testing including concrete testing, nuclear density testing, and DCP testing. Due to the project being funded with federal funds, the HEI resident technician routinely coordinated with IDOT.
