HEI News
7th Avenue and 15th Street Roundabout, Moline, IL
HEI was honored to provide engineering services to the City of Moline to design the first roundabout in the city! Located at the 7th Avenue and 15th Street intersection, this exciting new addition is now open to traffic and helping improve traffic flow and safety at the intersection.
Greater Downtown Reconstruction/Streetscape
HEI, was selected to provide Phase I, II, and III engineering services for $30M of improvements in downtown East Moline funded by a combination of $23.7M in Federal RAISE funds and the remainder with local agency funds. The project consists of four sections of improvement to the Bend and Rust Belt Districts as well as 15th Avenue through the downtown business district.
The project will enhance connectivity between East Moline residents and their former industrial riverfront, creating safe bike and pedestrian connections between neighborhoods and the river.
It will also facilitate economic development by enabling further redevelopment of an abandoned factory site and allowing the city’s business district to benefit from this growth and redevelopment.
Monmouth Square
Exciting transformations are underway at the iconic Rotary Gear in Monmouth! This beloved landmark is shining brighter than ever, and we're thrilled to enhance its charm with a fresh layer of tinted concrete.
APWA PWX Chicago
HEI was thrilled to recognize JD Schulte, Quad Cities Director of Operations, for proudly representing at this year’s APWA PWX Conference in Chicago! JD brought his expertise and energy to the stage during an insightful Storytelling Session titled: “Bigger Is Not Always Better When Buying New Equipment.”
Joining him were three other industry standouts:
- Weston Ferry, Public Works Superintendent for the Village of Orion
- Robert Riley, Compact Equipment Sales Manager at Martin Equipment
- Jed Klein, Sourcewell
Together, they shared real-world experiences and practical wisdom on making smart, scalable equipment choices—proving that sometimes, less truly is more.
Great minds, great stories, and a powerful reminder: smart choices often come in compact packages.
