CH 4 over Cedar Creek Bridge Replacement

HEI was selected by Warren County to provide Phase III engineering services for this $2.1M federally funded, two-span, steel plate girder bridge replacement bridge.

Due to outside structural beam failure, it was determined to be more cost-effective to replace the bridge rather than repair it due to the age and condition of the existing structure and eliminate the immediate need for further repairs in the future.

The project included bridge removal, steel H-piles, abutments and pier, steel girders, cast-in-place, reinforced concrete bridge deck, bridge railing, guardrail, riprap, HMA pavement with aggregate sub-base, earthwork and other collateral work.

HEI provided a resident engineer, construction inspectors, materials testers, and documentation technician to complete daily inspection and materials testing including concrete testing, nuclear density testing for earthwork and aggregates, and DCP testing, quantity and materials documentation utilizing CMMS, change orders, pay estimates, and final project closeout.
