Pilot Hill & Kelly Creek Wind Farms

The Pilot Hill Wind Farm and Kelly Creek Wind Farm projects are wind-powered electric generating facilities nearing completion in Kankakee, Iroquois and Ford Counties in Illinois. These projects provide clean renewable energy for Microsoft Corporation’s Chicago Area Datacenter. HEI’s role in the project was to act as project coordinator and assist in execution of the road use agreement for the governing highway authorities to ensure that the public infrastructure was able to support the movement of a high volume of construction materials, oversized-overweight components, and construction equipment to the generating facilities. HEI provided construction oversight and materials testing for highway and drainage improvements.
