HEI was selected by the City of Washington to provide preliminary and construction engineering services including preparation of a project development report, plans, specifications, estimates and full construction oversight for the construction of a recreational trail along Bus. 24. This .6-mile project consisted of removing existing paved shoulder along the north side of Bus. 24 between McCluggage Rd. and Cummings Lane, constructing 10’ wide concrete recreational trail, curb & gutter, installing culverts, storm sewer and earthwork. The project was funded with federal ITEP funds which required additional coordination with IDOT and FHWA.
