Information on the firm
Hutchison Engineering, Inc. (HEI) has evolved through several name changes over the years. HEI began as Casler and Stapleton in 1945 in Jacksonville, Illinois. The firm became Casler and Associates in 1960 and in 1972 became Casler, Houser and Hutchison, Inc. A branch office was opened in Joliet in 1996. Finally in 2001 the firm name changed to Hutchison Engineering, Inc.
Our Joliet office moved to a new location location in nearby Shorewood, Illinois in 2006.
HEI is a general civil engineering firm with experience working for over 50 municipalities and counties as well as private and government agencies across the state of Illinois.
There have been 3 generations of Hutchison's working with the firm since 1954.

Service Areas
HEI is pre-qualified in the following areas with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and the Illinois Capital Development Board (ICDB).

Staff
HEI has over 55 employees. The staff is split between the two offices in Jacksonville and Shorewood. HEI is available to serve its clients with an experienced staff. One third of our staff is registered in Illinois as professional engineers, structural engineers, and/or land surveyors.
